Mirza Abdul Qayyum

(1930-1989)

Founder chairman Mughal Foundation (AJK)

He was born in 1930. After completing his education, he joined Government service. In 1962 he resigned from service and left for UK. On his return form UK, he started his own business and took keen interest in Social Welfare of poor and needy people. He was selected member Administration Mirpur Development Authority in 1975.

    He founded Mughal Foundation in 1983 Mirpur and got it registered as a Social Welfare Organisation. He was elected President of All Jammu & Kashmir Mughal Association in 1985. He was also elected President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1983-1987. He could only work on one of the projects of Mughal Foundation i.e. free/cheaper medical treatment for the poor and needy people and got the foundation stone of Mughal Foundation Hospital Mirpur laid in 1986. Pre-construction work was in progress when he breathed his last on 15th Frb 1989.
