Introduction

Mughal Foundation found in 1983 on the basis of no profit, no loss and its first project of hospital, foundation stone laid in 1986 by the then Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. The hospital, with a area of 3.5 canals,  was completed in 1992 and started its activities on 14th of August 1992 and today the hospital has most of the facilities available which include 33 beds, operation theatre, x-ray room, ECG, laboratory, ultrasound facilities at much cheaper rates than other hospitals. Poor, needy and orphans receive free medical treatment and medicines. The hospital also sets up medical camps every year in and around mirpur and in refugee camps providing free examinations and medicines. Every year there is a special medical day in the hospital where most the medical specialists of the city provide free services. Also there are 3 free operation days every year held in the hospital where eye operations, general and guinea operations are held free.

Alhamdolillah, the aims and objectives for which the founder, Mirza Abdul Qayyum (late), had set up this foundation are being achieved and met today with great dignity and respect. The hospital has been awarded for these services, the Presidential Award on 24th October 2000.

The hospital has appointed a firm of Chartered Accountant to audit annually income and expenditures of the foundation and a report is published and also sent to income tax office. All the donations to the foundation are tax free.
